PH grades / UNS S17400
17-4 PH (UNS S17400, Type 630) is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel. A single low-temperature ageing treatment raises strength to over 1,300 MPa while keeping corrosion resistance similar to 304.
- UNS S17400

Corrosion & temperature resistance
Corrosion resistance is broadly comparable to 304 in most environments. Higher ageing temperatures (H1100, H1150, H1150D/M) lower strength but improve toughness and resistance to stress-corrosion cracking.
Applications
17-4 PH: Shafts, valve parts, aerospace, fasteners. Pump and valve shafts, oilfield and aerospace components, gears, fasteners, moulds and high-strength fittings.
